Inquiring Minds Want to Know

How did anyone know to put the japor snippit necklace into Padme's hands at her funeral?  Remember, she and Anakin were secretly married.  It's a sweet gesture, but does it work plot-wise?

  1. Chip thinks that maybe she wore it often, so they just thought it was a piece of jewelry she fancied...me? I didn't even remember where it came from...another reason I am not good at the Star Wars trivial pursuit game... :)

  2. But then I'd assume it would stay around her neck instead of in her hands? Ah, artistic license focused on jewelry messages without thought of how the stuff is worn. Anakin gave it to her when he was 10 years old soon after they met. I admit, I teared up when I saw it in the movie, but something about the scene bugged me.

  3. Maybe Obi-Wan had something to do with it. Although he may not have known about the necklace, he did know about Padme and Anakin's love. Plus, she did wear it often.

  4. Apparently Padme's grandmother prepared her funeral. Maybe she had a maternal hunch that it was important to Padme, or she had seen her granddaughter holding it when anxious or showing some other sign that it was important to her. Or maybe she thought it just looked nice with her outfit?
